First Stop

One of Etna Experience’s expert naturalistic guides will pick you up at 9:00 a.m. from your hotel in Catania or from an agreed meeting point, to take you aboard one of our 8-seater vehicles (jeep or minivan).

Your guide will lead you along a beautiful naturalistic path, while explaining the origins of our volcano. You will visit some ancient craters (probably the Monti Silvestri) surrounded by an evocative lunar landscape.

Second Stop

You will visit a cave of volcanic origin using the equipment that we provide (helmets and torches). The visit to the cave is not made in case of significant snowfall or presence of ice at the entrance that would make the entrance dangerous. During the tour there will be a stop for a delicious snack based on “Tavola Calda Siciliana” and a good glass of red sicilian wine.

Partecipation Fee

From April to October (included), the cost of the Mt Etna Morning tour is 54€ per adult and 49€ for both children and students under 24 years old.
From November to March (included) the rate is 49€ per adult, 44€ for both children and students under 24 years old.

Included in the booking

A professional and passionate naturalistic guide (our guides are geologist, volcanologists, agronomists, etc…). Transport service with jeep or minibus from Catania, directly from your hotel or from an agreed meeting point. A snack. Insurance with our Tour Operator. Licensed Transport Service. Water and Wine. Equipment, if required when booking.

The excursion will take place in Italian and English. (Upon request and according to the availability also in Spanish, French and German).

Recommended equipment

We remind you to wear closed and sturdy shoes (sports or trekking) with thick socks, and to bring a jacket because the temperature at a higher altitude may be lower ( about 10° to 15° degrees lower than in Catania). If you believe you might not be well equipped, let us know when booking. In that case shoes and jackets will be provided.

We strongly advise not to attend the excursions to those who are not in good health, especially to people suffering from cardiorespiratory diseases.

Itinerary changes

In case of bad weather conditions, the guide may decide to make some changes to the itinerary.
