One of Etna Experience’s guides will drive you on board of one of our vehicles to Rifugio Sapienza. There the tour will continue taking the cable car up to 2500 meters and a special 4×4 vehicle to reach an altitude of 2950 meters. So, together with a volcanological guide, you will enjoy the magnificence of our volcano standing in front of the impressive Central and South Eastern Craters, surrounded by ancient and recent lava flows.
Once back to Rifugio Sapienza we will head in the direction of Monte Nero degli Zappini, for a naturalistic walk with our guide, to discover the geological and botanical aspects of Etna.
You will stop nearby the mountain shelter Santa Barbara where you will enjoy a picnic made of authentic Sicilian “Tavola Calda” (street food), sweets, water and Etna wine.
In the afternoon, you will visit a volcanic cave using the equipment provided (helmets and torches) to safely explore it. Our expert guide will introduce you, with some basic information on speleology, to the fascintating phenomena often related to eruptions.
The price for this excursion is 139€ for adults and 119€ for children and students up to 24 years old.
