Explore the lava caves of Etna, while our friendly and knowledgeable guide will explain you the fascinating volcanic phenomena. We will provide helmets and torches.

Second Stop

Bove Valley: a natural stage where there are ofthen the most spectacular lava eruptions. In a clear sky day the summit craters will be visible in all their beauty. Up an extinct crater (around 2000 mt) you will wait the magic moment of the sunset on the volcano, having your aperitif.

*In some special cases (i.e. bad weather conditions) some stops can be replaced with a tasting of local Etna wine, honey and olive oil in a production farm.

Participation fee

The price for this tour is 54€ for adults and 49€ for children and students up to 24 years old.

Included in the booking

A professional and passionate naturalistic guide (our guides are geologist, volcanologists, agronomists, etc…). Transport service with jeep or minibus from Catania, directly from your hotel or from an agreed meeting point. A snack. Insurance with our Tour Operator. Licensed Transport Service. Water and Wine. Equipment, if required when booking.

The excursion will take place in Italian and English. (Upon request and according to the availability also in Spanish and French).

Recommended equipment

We remind you to wear closed and sturdy shoes (sports or trekking) with thick socks, and to bring a jacket because the temperature at a higher altitude may be lower ( about 10° to 15° degrees lower than in Catania). If you believe you might not be well equipped, let us know when booking. In that case shoes and jackets will be provided.

We strongly advise not to attend the excursions to those who are not in good health, especially to people suffering from cardiorespiratory diseases.

Itinerary changes

In case of eruption the program will vary according to the part of the volcano where the eruption takes place (when the volcano is active, it's wonderful to see the lava glowing red in the dark). In case of bad weather conditions, the guide may decide to make some changes to the itinerary.
