First stop

Start. One of Etna Experience’s expert naturalistic guides will pick you up at 9:00 a.m. from your hotel in Catania or from an agreed meeting point, to take you aboard one of our 8-seater vehicles (jeep or minivan).

Mt. Etna hiking. Your guide will lead you to discover the fascinating volcanic phenomena, walking through ancient woods, on old craters and unique lava formations at 2000mt of altitude. During the hiking route you will be able to admire from various points, the summit craters on the landscape.

Second stop

Get in the volcanic underground. You will visit a volcanic cave using the equipment provided by us free of charge (helmets and torches). Our guide will explain you the origins, uses, traditions and traits of this beautiful volcanic tube.

Third stop

Lunch and wine tasting. At lunch we will stop in a winery in a town at the feet of the Etna Volcano. You’ll enjoy a genuine and typical Sicilian lunch made of fresh products. Every dishes will be paired with Mount Etna DOC wines.

Please let us know in advance if you have food allergies or if you follow particular diets, like vegan or vegetarian.

Fourth stop

Alcantara Gorges. Finally you will visit the beautiful Alcantara’s Gorges, formed thousands of years ago thanks to a lava flow that invaded the bed of the Alcantara river. The crash between the river’s extremely cold water and the incandescent lava created one of the most spectacular sceneries in nature. There will be the possibility to walk inside the river or to swim.

Come back. The Mt. Etna, wine and Alcantara Gorges tour will finish at 6:00/6:30 p.m., when you will come back to Catania.
